People at AIM

 Johannes P. A. Lamers
Honoured member of AIM

Dr. Lamers was born in the Netherlands. He studied agronomy at the Agricultural University of Wageningen and agricultural economics at the University of Hohenheim, Germany. There, he majored in resource management, farming system economics and agricultural extension. Dr. Lamers has been on long and short-term missions in Africa for 15 years and has been working in Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries since 1999. In addition to his native Dutch, he speaks fluent German, English and French. Dr. John Lamers is an honoured member of AIM since 2000 in recognition of his valuable contribution to its establishment.


 Fazil Jafarov
Director/Trainer

Mr. Jafarov is a graduate from the Academy of Agriculture in Ganja, Azerbaijan. He has been engaged in agricultural production, planning and management of agricultural events at the regional level for many years. He has significant experience as a chief agronomist. Besides he is carrying out research works on soil fertility management in Garabakh region. He is one of the planners and founders of AIM. Mr. Jafarov is married and has three children.

 Nazakat Bayverdiyeva
Deputy Director, Donor/External Relations

Ms. Bayverdiyeva has been with AIM since 2002. A graduate of the Azerbaijan University of Foreign Languages she helped tremendously to improving training materials and developing new training modules and visual aids within AIM. Under her management, AIM successfully launched comprehensive monitoring and evaluation system that contributed very much to the development of AIM. She carries out the duties of Deputy Director for AIM since 2005.

 Yegana Guliyeva
Advisor on Regional and Organisational Development
Ms. Guliyeva studied European Languages (English and French) at the State University of Languages in Baku, Azerbaijan. She has been working actively with international humanitarian assistance NGOs since 1997. She joined AIM in 1999 and has reinforced the team of AIM’s founders to establish an institutionally strong national NGO with great future prospects. After her recent master study course in Germany and Chile on regional development planning and management she supports AIM in its strategic decision-making.

Roland Kilian Schlott
AIM Advisor/Diakonie Country Director
(until 2003)
Mr. Schlott has contributed very much to the development of AIM to help it to become the independent, institutionally strong and well-known organization that it is today. He is a Tropical Agronomist and has several years of experience in farming and working with marketing associations in Western Africa. Besides his native German, he speaks fluent Azeri.

 Yashar Iskandarov
Finance Manager/Trainer

Mr. Iskandarov has been on board with AIM since its establishment. His value in setting up the financial system of AIM cannot be underestimated. During various years he has also been responsible for the AIM partnership projects implemented in partnership with different INGO in Azerbaijan since August 2001. Mr. Iskandarov has done the consultancy for MEDA, a Canadian NGO in ToT to establish agricultural extension system in Northern Tajikistan. Besides he is responsible for the trainings related to economic and market research at the company.
He has been living in Baku with his family since the Armenian occupation of his homeland, Kelbajar, in 1993.
 

 Solmaz Adigozalova
Program Coordinator/Head Trainer

Mrs. Adigozalova is one of our valuable staff members. She holds a degree in agronomy from the Academy of Agriculture in Ganja. She has more than ten years experience in training and coaching. Mrs. Adigozalova conducted ToT and other relevant trainings on agricultural extension in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. She is the Head Trainer and Coach for AIM. Presently she is responsible for overall management of selection and training of agricultural advisors. She is married and has three children.

 Zulfu Ismayilov
Program Coordinator/Trainer

Mr. Ismayilov actively participated in the establishment of AIM and contributed significantly with the broad knowledge and valuable experience that he gained during Diakonie’s activities in Azerbaijan. Other members of the team know him as “AIM’s golden hands”. He has been in charge of the AIM’s Partnership Programs with different INGOs during various years. Mr. Ismayilov is married and has three children.

 Alovsat Abdulov
Trainer

As many from the AIM’s team Mr. Abdulov is also a graduate of the Academy of Agriculture in Ganja. He is a specialist in Veterinary medicine. In May 2000 he attended training in Animal Production and Genetic Improvement in Egypt. He came on board as a volunteer working with livestock and later was assigned as the extension agent in the field. In 2001 he was promoted to Program Coordinator of the AIM-Accion Contra el Hambre (ACH) Joint Project in the regions of Agjabedi and Beylagan. Mr. Abdulov is married and lives with his family in the Agjabedi region.

 Elman Safiyev
Monitoring and Evaluation Officer/Trainer - Economist

Mr. Elman Safiyev is a member of AIM from 2002. He has graduated from the State Economy University. Presently he is a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and as well as economist-trainer at AIM. Besides he is a private agricultural extensionist in the village of Arazbari of Agjabedi district since 2002. He is married and has four children.

 Anar Safarov
Information and Marketing Manager

Mr. Anar Safarov was born in Mingachevir in 1979. He is a graduate from Azerbaijan State Economic University. He holds a master’s degree in management of production and service fields. Later he continued his education at Netherland’s Porfessional Agricultural Univesity of Dronten at the department of “International Regional Innovations and Development” and holds a degree of “ingenieur”. He has been working at AIM in the field of Public Relations, information editting and publications.

 Maharram Hagverdiyev
Head Laboratory Technician at Soil, Water and Plant Anlayses Laboratory

Mr. Maharram Hagverdiyev has been a member of AIM since 2000. He is a graduate from Azerbaijan Agricultural Academy in Ganja. He is a soil scientist by profession. He has gained a large working experience as an agronomist at Agjabedi agriculture office and from other organizational duties. He has been working as independent agricultural extensionist in Giyamadinni village of Agjabedi district since 2001. Presently he is a head lab technician at Soil, Water and Plant Analyses Laboratory. He is married and has four children.
